TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
This letter is to show my gratitude to the most amazing professor in my US education system. Professor Myles Bassell (CUNY – Brooklyn College) was the most inspirational coach who recognized my strengths and ability not only as a student, but also as a professional.
I am a former student of Brooklyn College (Class of 2015) and I am originally from Bangladesh. There have been many moments where I was left in shock and astonishment when Professor Bassell greeted me in Bengali, which is my mother tongue. He has always showed great respect for students of diverse background that is definitely very rare to find from a teacher. I have taken BUSN7278X Applied Data Analysis and BUSN7279X Applied Business Research under Professor Bassell and although the workload was enormous the amount of knowledge I have gained from both the courses is unparalleled. His teaching style emphasized the importance of not just telling us about the concepts, but showing us how to apply the concepts. He explained statistical concepts and we used SPSS to conduct analysis of a data set of a Mexican restaurant. He explained how to conduct research, had us completed several questionnaires use SurveyGizmo, and also had us create our own questionnaire.
He is very professional, well prepared and highly organized. He maintains a great deal of communication with his students and he is always willing to help. He can be reached 24/7 by text message and email. He goes out of his way to make students understand the topic and be successful. He has great enthusiasm, passion and he has the ability to explain complex concepts. He has great sense of humor that makes his classes so much fun.
I would like to thank him for all he has taught me in both the courses. The knowledge and wisdom he has imparted upon me have been a great help and support. I believe my success is at least in part due to his sincere support and mentorship. I wish him all the best in all his future endeavors.
